Knocking Down the Fences (18 min. 2019)

This is the story of a superstar athlete and why the sports industry hasn't put her on your radar. AJ Andrews is the first woman to win a Rawlings Gold Glove, an award given to the best fielders in baseball for decades. But winning the Gold Glove did not change the fact that Andrews earns less than $15k a year in an industry more willing to pay female athletes to model than to play their sport.

Winner of the PBS Reel South Award, the best student documentary at the 2019 Nashville Film Festival, audience award at SF Indie Fest, Best Documentary at the Humboldt Film Festival and runner up for the 2019 Anchorage Film Festival Audience Choice Award. An award-winning documentary about Zanzibar's women's soccer team.

Directed & produced by Meg Shutzer. New Generation Queens premiered at the Manhattan Film Festival where it won best International Documentary. The film went on to win several awards, including Best Picture at the Global Cinema Film Festival, and Best Documentary and Best Social Impact film at FilmShift.
